Heather Briggs grew up in Peterborough, Ontario where both her parents had an entrepreneurial spirit that encouraged creativity throughout her early education. She knew as a child that she wanted to have her own business by the time she was 30. She also knew she needed to gain skill and experience beforehand.
Her sense of creativity mixed with a practical sense for business brought Heather to Toronto where she attained a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Fashion Marketing at Ryerson University. After moving to Vancouver, she continued to gain valuable on-the-job experience with the fast-growing lululemon athletica, and innovative graphic design firms, Twin Fish Creative and the 4AM Group.
Referrals for freelance design work started to come her way. "I knew I could do it but the strategist in me was hesitant to take the risk," says Briggs.
A former work colleague turned client kept nudging her to take the Toward Excellence Self Employment Program. The program gave her an action plan to follow, verified her knowledge, and gave her the confidence needed to start up her own graphic design and marketing company in 2006.
In this creatively enlightened venture, Heather combines artistic talent and an intuitive approach for design and marketing, with significant entrepreneurial business training.
